Eclectic Interior Design Style
Eclectic style interior design

Eclecticism arose in the European countries in the XIX century, when society felt nostalgia for the past. Antiques that have gone through the generations or found in the closets – all this began to be worn and filled people’s houses. So there was a style of eclecticism in the interior and clothing. But eclecticism is not the compilation of absolutely different things in one room, but the competent combination of the combined details in one composition.

If you want to decorate an interior in eclectic style, you need to take an antique wardrobe, a new-fashioned armchair with a print of animal skins and a chandelier with candelabra – you will get a unique composition that can decorate any room. Design in this style is a solution for bold and outrageous, creative people, able to appreciate the combination of different eras and styles. If you want to design your apartment in this style, but are afraid to overdo it, the designers of Studio 57 will design for you an individual interior in eclectic style.

The main characteristics of the Eclectic style:
- The basis for contrasts: low-key furniture in combination with fanciful lamps;
- Compositions from several stylistics;
- Limited color scale: no more than 4 colors of design;
- A large number of textiles and soft materials;
- Geometric silhouettes;
- The combination of a variety of prints: feathers, stripes, geometric patterns;
- Convenience and functionality;
- Small decor elements for a bunch of details in the design;
- Decoration with art objects: paintings, figurines, vases;
- The predominance of family souvenirs in the interior.

Eclecticism is not chaos
To create an eclectic style interior, you must follow certain rules. You can not simply make up different old and new things in the room, which are absolutely unharmonious. Still, this style contains the ideas of minimalism and functionality, so try to use a minimum of bulky and useless furniture. Neutral elements should contrast with bright and catchy ones, heavy curtains should be a highlight in the room, and not just another “heavy” detail.
Many confuse eclecticism with the Fusion interior design style. But they have obvious differences – minimalism and functionality prevail in eclecticism, while Fusion goes beyond the rules, allowing to decorate a room with a lot of furniture and complex textures.

Choice of artists and fashion designers
If you are a creative person with a good sense of taste, then you will most likely choose a design in the Eclectic style. The difference between details, non-standard combinations – all this complements the situation in the room, turning the interior into a unique one. Much attention is paid to comfort. This style will fill your apartment with actual and homely atmosphere.
